Powell Peralta Deck Construction
Powell Peralta Re-Issue Decks are close reproductions of their 1980’s counterparts, featuring the original Pro graphics and shape, top graphic logo and spoon nose concave.
Powell Peralta Re-Issue Decks are manufactured in our Santa Barbara skateboard factory, which is still directed by a few of the same craftsmen that made them originally. Skate One designed and fabricated AirLam™ low pressure air bladder presses are used to laminate 7 plies of the finest grade American, hard rock maple, with high strength, water resistant glue. Each deck is then sealed against moisture with a water base acrylic semi-gloss finish. Silk-screened decks are given an additional coat of clear acrylic to add protection to the multi-layer ink coating. Designated decks are given an additional coat of SST™ for longer slides. Powell Peralta decks are precisely controlled in thickness for optimum performance and warranted against de-lamination for the useful life of the deck.

Testimonials
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Powell for re-issuing these classic, timeless graphics and attaching them to updated, classic shapes that old guys like me love to ride. The graphics take me back to my days of sneaking into pools, and trying to pull my first front side air back in the mid 80s. These graphics and Powell in general played a large role in life growing up, and it's great for me to see them come alive once again. Those years of skating, eating, sleeping, trying to look like every member of the Bones Brigade and ensuring that I had the same set-up at Lance Mountain were the ones I look back very fondly on. The only question that I had is - will you be releasing any other classic graphics from that era on the new McGill shape? I ask, as my first board ever was a blue Vato Rat with Powell IIIs that my dad picked up for me in LA on business back in 1985. That board is now long and gone, however, every time I see a picture of one or see one in Future Primitive, it gives me chills. I would love to see the McGill shape re-issued with the classic Vato Rat graphic as it means a lot to me. That would the icing the cake so to speak. I don't think I would even ride it, I would just hang it up on the wall in a glass case. Thanks for your time, and thanks again for looking after us old school cats. It means a great deal to me, and I am glad that I can get that piece of my life back again. Cheers,
